Perilaku Utang dan Buy-Now-Pay-Later 2021–2025: Dampaknya pada Stres Finansial dan Kesehatan Mental
Abstract
This study investigates how the rapid expansion of buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) services from 2021 to 2025 has shaped debt behaviors and contributed to financial stress and mental health challenges among consumers. Using a quantitative approach supported by descriptive analysis and literature review, the research highlights rising dependency on short-term digital credit, increasing impulsive spending, and a shift in financial risk patterns among young adults. Findings indicate that frequent BNPL usage correlates with higher perceived financial pressure, reduced budgeting discipline, and elevated symptoms of anxiety. The study concludes that BNPL platforms must integrate stronger financial education tools, while users require improved self-regulation and awareness of long-term financial risks.
